In Indian tradition, the whole wisdom power is considered to be the single unit; Wisdom, knowledge, information, or cognition, these words are used interchangeably in different contexts. There are three connectivity according to VATSYAYANA for this process to happen; Atma (the soul) connects itself with the Manas, Manas with Indriyas (senses), Indriyas with the objects then the perception occurs. If the link is broken in the above-said chain, perception does not occur. Pratyaksha (perception), Anumana (inference), Upamana (simile), and Agama (verbal testimony) are the major four epistemological methods to acquire knowledge or wisdom. All these are depended on the perceiver one who uses the sensory organs and the mind along with intellect and discrimination. The abilities of mind to analyze things are called Tarka Shakti and Vichara Shakti (logicalness and analytical ability) which are basically used to bring in the clarity of understanding at every step of the life, as opined by sage Patanjali. Using these two abilities, ones Samshaya (doubts) will be converted into Nishcaya (confirmative Cognitive clarity). Here is a new subtle dimension identified by this seers and sages of this great land; Manisha (intuitive ability) which is beyond the logical assessment, analysis, and thinking capacity. The individual who has Manisha becomes an instrumental in bringing out the esoteric secrets of this complex universe. This is the gift of the nature to the human being.

Animals have unique features at the physical plane; a human being cannot compete with nature. In fact, sensory perception is superior in birds, insects, and animals. The question is “how is that the human is unique from all these extraordinary creatures?” The answer is “the wisdom,” which distinguishes the man from any animals. In Sanskrit, it is called Dhishana. Dhishana, the unique ability should be used to unearth the secrets of universe which is intuitive in nature. Patanjali names it as Samapatti (Samadhi, experience of oneness with the object of observation). Only by attaining Samadhi in every aspect, one gets pure wisdom, otherwise partial, lopsided, and perverted knowledge is attained which becomes a nuisance to the creation itself.
